JOURNEY INTO FREEDOM | INTERACTIVE PRAYER ROOM

NOTE: The prayer room experience will culminate the night before the last day with a OneWorship Encounter held at Southridge Church on Friday night (Feb 26).

This temporary and timely prayer room will allow people of ALL ethnicities and cultural backgrounds to enter into the journey and lament of the African American experience, through the lens of the Cross. This will be similar to a prayer room that Civil Righteousness, Inc. co-hosted with 24/7 Prayer International this past summer in Ferguson, MO. We will have some of the original prophetic artwork from Ferguson, as well as pieces from local Michigan artists as part of the prayer stations.

A little more about the experience:

The self-guided stations you will engage in are designed to lead you to listen to God, to one another, and to your own heart. There are many opportunities to learn through each station. We hope that as you meet with God you can make space for lament, the internal groan which God welcomes as a prayer.

The stations are in no particular order. We encourage you to walk about the entire room before engaging a station. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. You may find that you spend your entire time at one station, or you may visit several stations over the course of an hour.

A prayer room is like a living organism. As it is filled with the cries of intercessors and the people’s silent praise, it evolves, changing, and filling with the glory of God.

Come as you are, and allow the Lord to change you before you leave.

Schedule, Location and Covid Precautions:

The Prayer room will be located on the WEST side of the church. (Look for the JLK sign to the right of the main doors). The room will be open Tuesday-Saturday from 8 am-noon and 6-8 pm with a trained volunteer in attendance. Covid precautions will be in place. We are asking that everyone please wear a mask and understand that there will be a limited number allowed in at any one time. We will be sanitizing all the stations on a regular basis.

We are highly encouraging churches and ministries to consider bringing their staff to this experience, however we would like groups (over 5) to please contact us first so that we can safely manage the numbers in the prayer room at any one time. Also, depending on volunteer availability, we may be able to schedule your group during an additional day/time than those listed above.
